Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden located in the AV. CARRERA 70 NO.55-84 of Bogota-Colombia is a very beautiful place with a big variety of plants. It  is also one of the biggest turist attractions of Bogota.

Interview with Carlos Rodriguez (one of the employers of the Botanical Garden)

MPS: How does it feels to work in a place with a great sense of envioromental protection?

CR:"Is very nice, considering all the abuses we had made to the planet so i feel is a very big enviromental responsability and that is our duty to protect it."

MPS: What time of the year is most visited?

CR: "During all the year but particullary in the school season because the Educational Institutions."

MPS: What services does the Botanical Garden provides?

CR: "There are services for the educational sector as training and advisory services, vacations tour for children's groups, libraries.. in others.."

MPS: When was it founded?

CR: "It was founded in 1955 in honor to Jose Celestino Mutis who was recognized as naturalist."

MPS: How many species of plants can be founded?

CR: "Around 18 thousand species."

MPS: Is there any tree or flower which represents Bogota and can be founded here?

CR: "The "Nogal" is the logo tree of Bogota."

Salitre Mágico

The thematic park Salitre Mágico is located in Bogotá in the avenue 68 and street 63. It is next to the aquatic park, Cici Aquapark. It counts with 30 mechanical attractions, which are Doble Loop, Apocalypse, Musik Center, Castillo del Terror, Karts, Bumper Carts, CoCaCola Roller coaster, Tornado AV VIllas, Pirate Boat, carousel, House of mirrors, and others. The attractions are very modern and are classified into 3 categories: high impact, for children and for the entire family. In some of the attractions, there’s a restriction for people under certain height. There are some other issues that people with health problems must accomplish for their safety.


Salitre Mágico is part of the CIE group (Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento) one of the biggest companies of entertainment in America. Some important events that have been done in this park are the Scout Jamboree in 1988, some important inaugurations and other enterprises' events. In this park people can buy food and drinks and some souvenirs to remember their visit. Many atractiona are sponsored by big companies like banks.

 This park has been rated as one of the most traditional and as a touristic place in Bogotá, due to that is one of few thematic parks in this city. As a conclusion, Salitre Mágico is a really fun place to be and to spend time with family and friends. Cine Colombia (Gran Estación)

Cine Colombia is a movie theater  company that works in different places of Bogota city.  There are six cabines where you can buy your favorite movie ticket or you can buy it in internet with a charge. There are 8 movie rooms and some of them have 3D movies wich in our experience are amazing. You also can choose if you want to watch 3D movies or in 2D movies. In Real life movies you can choose to watch it in english with subtitles or in spanish with no subtitles. We interview one of the tickets selling workers and she said that working in the movies was easy but that you never get a rest. She told us that in the movies you  can only eat food that you buy in the cinema but that always noone follow that rule. The ticket cost changes a lot. In the normal function in the weekend and before 3:00pm and after 10:30pm it costs 6,000 but if it is not it costs 10,000.  and in 3D weekends and before 3:00pm and after10:30pm it costs 9,500 but if it is not it costs13,000. Cine Colombia for a nature campaign created a new way of selling the 3D glasses you buy them but you keep them and you never throw them. You can choose between many styles but the price varity changes
