Monumento a los Héroes is located in Bogotá, in the Caracas Avenue and 80th Street. It was made by a French artist in marble mostly. It's a monument of great importance due to the meaning that it has. There is a building that has written all over its four faces (north, south, east and west) the battles that Colombia has fought against other countries like Spain for example. In the front part there is a statue of Simón Bolívar (the liberator) riding a horse, like if he was goinf to fight every time you see it. It represents all the blood that has been spilled by Colombians through all the time that has passed, the effort and perseverance, and the need and lust of freedon that the country seemed to have for freedom.
It's very important to visit it because there you can know more about the history of the country and the city as well. There's going to be an underground museum about some of the battles and it will be amazingly interesting, go over as soon as it opens!
